| Why is it, I can't find the motivation to get into a regular homework pattern. There is so much other stuff I want to spend my time on. I need to find a healthy balance. There just isn't enough time in the day for it all. What is more important and by whose standards?? I love all that I do but I never have enough time to devote to any of it. Lord, please lead me where I can best glorify you! My God leads me to another project. Bye. | | |
| hey everyone, I just have to say this once, I won't rub it in, but I feel like i'm in high school again, I had a snow day today! I was supposed to start my field experience today but my school had a snow day! Ok, so moving on... This weekend was fun, swam at the rec on friday, always a blast, watched a ton of movies and relaxed with my boy, and had an awesome time bowling at the Freshman outing. I'd say it was quite a successful weekend.
I stumbled over a really cool verse the other day in 1 Peter 1: 13-16. It has a lot of amazing truths all packed into those few verses. Peter tells us to "prepare our minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope conpletely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior because it is written, 'You shall be holy, for I am holy'." There were two things that stuck out to me personally, even though there is much much more in these verses. One thing was, we're called to prepare our minds for action, reading the bible daily and having a constant open communication with Jesus is so essential to being an available and willing learner. How can I prepare my mind for action, for God's kingdom the way that I'm called to, if i'm not in the word and prayer daily? Also, "As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance". I ask you to concider this verse carefully, I read it and I stopped to think, "what things are still/back in my life that I know better, the day you become aware of your transgressions is the day that you should end whatever it may be that is keeping you from God. It's so easy to slip back into a sin that used to be so natural in your ignorance. These are my prayers for this week to focus on.
Have a great day, and week if i don't get to write again this week which is very likely. God Bless!
| Yikes, I've been really bad at getting back at this. My parents computer likes kicking you offline a lot so I didn't think it would be worth writing a huge entry and it getting erased. Well my break was amazing, I had soo much fun. Ryan spent a conciderable amount of time at my house with my family. We played a lot of pool and used the 4-wheeler. Just read Brian's xanga to see how that panned out...haha...lots of mud!
I had a great time in Chicago with my dad's side of the family. I got to spend a lot of time with my baby cousin Aila. She just turned 2 and talks up a storm. She was a blast. We didn't do much in Chicago like we normally do except go shopping, which i got some great deals! My passion...thrift shopping!!! It's like a challenge for me or a game to see how many articles of clothing I can get for a really cheap amount. Oh well.
I worked at IHOP for 6 days straight, which was nice to serve again, it can be a lot of fun, but it was physically exhausting! It's cool though cuz I needed it to pay for spring break...hehe...Colorado here I come! I hope I can stay on my feet when we ski...
I'm glad to be back though, i've missed everyone a ton. Although this is ending up to be the worst week and the best at the same time. SOO much work to do, but I'm really excited about being in this cohort. It will be fun, but demanding and time consuming which i'm too quickly finding out. I'm really excited to be starting into the book of Mark this semester, I am liking the fact that we are doing it in SLT first and then teaching it to the freshman study. It's forcing me to look at things from many perspectives. Well the homework is calling me, gotta go.
| Wow, the Navs Christmas Party went so well, I had so much fun! Thanks to ALL who helped~ Couldn't have been done without you! Amanda~best "white elephant" gift...haha, or maybe just the funniest! John~coolest game ever...i'll have to practice up over break and see if i can't come back and beat you...SINCE YOU SAY you're the best at it. Finals week is going to be blah, but i'm really looking forward to next weekend! My WHOLE McDonald side is going to be there for Christmas!!! I can't wait! Gotta get studying...have a good one. | | |
| SOMETHING CORPORATE is Awesome! I went to my first real punk concert last night with Ryan as part of his Christmas gift. I felt afterwards that it was partially a gift for me too. I can't believe how much fun I had. I've never been in a mosh pit before and it was kinda fun. I wish I had been better prepared but nevertheless I kinda liked it. My shoe came untied and lost my glasses but I needed a new pair anyways. Something Corporate played all my favorite songs, even Konstantine! Now I have to get in gear to finish out this semester and study for finals and such...but not before the Navigators Christmas Party! It's going to be so fun!
